Map your Twitter Friends/Followers

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Yahoo Pipes are the coolest and eaziest ways of creating mashups. This blog post will help you understand how to plot your Twitter followers/friends on the world map. Whats the best part? You can also embed this into your blog in less than 5 minutes!

There are basically two pipes to choose from, one for your Twitter friends and the other for your Twitter Followers. The later one requires your Twitter password which is sent over an unencrypted connection. So, if would be better to test your friends list first.

Yahoo Pipes

Click on the link and enter your Twitter name. Click “Run Pipe” and hold on for few seconds.

Are you able to see the map?

There is a link to “Get as a Badge” at the left, click that link and choose the settings to match your blog. The instructions provided are pretty clear and doesn’t need any further clarification. The one thing that impressed me about this was the integration with Blogger, TypePad , iGoogle and Wordpress(not so very impressive for this one).

There you have the result.

BTW, you can follow me @Bollyrics.

Team Play is the name of the Game

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Nothing will annoy your team mates more if u decide to play the lone ranger and run off on your own, always stick with your team this increases everyone`s odds of surviving the round

Having said that never stick so close to your team mates that u hinder their play for e.g.:

Never stay in your teammates line of fire, not only do u prevent him from shooting the enemy you also present a really good chance for an enemy sniper with the AWP to kill the both of you with one shot

Also never block your teammates line of movement especially never block access to doors or passages this leaves u r teammate without an option of escape

If u see u r teammate pinned down by the enemy help him by providing cover fire or much more preferable try to take down the enemy, cause if u don`t do this once they finish him off guess who they’re going to come for next..

Remember CS is a game that rewards good team play if u want to hog the glory for yourself go play UT or Quake

Tricks in CS 1.6

Running Fast:

Switch to u r knife or pistol to run faster. With knife you can run little more quicker than pistol.

Sniper Tip:

Equip urself with a good secondary. Deagle is usually preferred here but plenty of snipers use the T default Glock pistol and its 3 shot burst fire to good effect

Nade and Flash Effectively:

Use of Flashbangs, grenades and smoke can prove very crucial. It is better to use smoke first and then flash. Hence opposition cannot find if flash is thrown. Same way grenades can be used. There should be co-ordination between teammates in using Flashes and grenades. No point that whole team is wasting its nades in clearing 1 passage.

And avoid flashing teammates. This is simple if you know positions of your team mates. Always keep 1 eye on Radar.
